Having links on your Instagram story can be very effective. It engages viewers and directs them to content on other sites or platforms you would like them to see. If you have a business account you can view insights for who interacted with the link on your story. This is a good example of why switching your account to a business profile is a good idea. Until recently, the only accounts with the ability to add links to their Instagram story were those with over 10,000 followers or those which were verified. Thanks to a new update everybody has the ability to post a link on their Instagram story and here’s how to do it:
Firstly, Copy the URL address that you want as a link to your Instagram story.
Secondly, Open the Instagram App.
Next, click the plus icon at the top of the screen on the right-hand side.
Next, at the bottom of the screen, select “story”.
Then, add the content you want views to see.
Once this is done, select the Sticker icon at the top of the screen (the third icon from the right).
After this, scroll down until you see a sticker that says link with a paperclip symbol.
Paste your URL in the space provided and finally, click done (Instagram will check that the link you have entered is valid).
Now you’re ready to post your story as usual.
Tip: If you want a URL permanently linked to your account, you can add it to your account bio. You can do this by clicking the “edit profile” button on your profile page. You will see a space to add a website and once again you can copy and paste your chosen link there.
