Breaking down AI for SEO: A Guide to Enhance Your Website Visibility by Using the Power of AI

What is SEO?

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is the process of adjusting your website or online content to improve its visibility on search engine results pages (like Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc…) 

What is AI for SEO?

In short, it is the use of various Artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve the Search Engine Optimization processes (SEO). This normally includes using AI to help improve various aspects of a website’s quality. However, in this article, we will focus on using AI to discover keyword opportunities and create high-quality content that is highly relevant to those keywords.

How can we use AI for SEO?

1. Finding keyword opportunities

  Usually, marketers have to spend a significant amount of time and effort to find the right keywords for their SEO strategy. However, using  AI tools such as Semrush can help simplify this process, making it easier to discover keyword opportunities. Here's an example:

Suppose I'm a company selling sports shoes. By entering "Sports shoes" into the keyword Magic tool on Semrush, I can obtain more than 30,000 useful keyword ideas (as appeared in the above figure) within a few seconds. Moreover, this AI also gives us detailed information on each keyword including intent (the user intention), search volumes, Keyword Difficulty (KD%), and CPC. Therefore, if my goal is to enhance the website visibility and reduce the amount of effort used,  focusing on keywords with high search volumes and low KD% would be the most suitable choice for my SEO plan.  In this example, the most suitable keywords for my company should be “ the best sports shoes for walking”

2. Creating and optimizing the website’s content 

After the keywords are identified, another challenge for marketers is to create content with high quality which is also highly relevant to the chosen keyword. However, without the help of AI during this fast-evolving era, ensuring content quality for SEO plans becomes more and more challenging. Thus, marketers have to invest more time and budget on their tasks. For instance, collecting and analyzing a vast amount of data to understand the current world trends, making graphics for their content, and many others. However, with the arrival of AI tools like ChatGPT, Jasper AI, Hubspot, and others, the amount of burdens on marketers could be alleviated.

Here's an example of using “Jasper AI to create articles on the website of a company selling sports shoes ( supposed that the keyword chosen is “ best sports shoes for walking.)

  1. To make the textual content for my article, I used the following prompt:  “ As a marketer of a company selling sports shoes, write me one article that is highly relevant to the keyword “best sports shoes for walking” " Then, I added the following specification: 

  1. Target audiences - Teenagers, Adults aged 30- 45,

  2. Product features - comfortable, light, high endurance, 

  3. Maximum words: 300 words

  1. To make the image for my article, here is the prompt I used for the left picture: “A handsome man walking comfortably with his sports shoes.”  For the right picture: “ Teenagers walking comfortably with sports shoes in the city”

By using Jasper AI to create the full article for our websites (both text and image), we can see that adjustments are needed in certain areas. For example, in the generated text, the words “ adults aged 30-45” shall be replaced with “adults” to make the paragraph feel more natural. For the generated image, the right picture appears to be quite unrealistic which could potentially create feelings of distrust among users. 

Despite the need for manual corrections to address these errors, we can not avoid the fact that using this AI could give marketers a lot of ideas to create and improve their articles. In reality, marketers can use this AI to generate a hundred different versions of an article in less than half an hour, then select some of the best ones and make adjustments. This capability allows marketers to produce high-quality content for their sites more efficiently by reducing the time and effort needed compared to entirely manual creation, which, in turn, enhances the effectiveness of SEO strategies.

In this article, we have seen how AI tools like Semrush and Jasper AI can quickly find the best keywords and generate various content ideas. Despite the need for a little bit of adjustment, the work done by these AI tools is still considered extremely helpful, making them great assistants for many marketers. In short, by using AI as your assistant, creating top-notch content and discovering the right keywords becomes quicker and easier, allowing your SEO strategies to have a significant boost in today's fast-paced digital world.
