3 Tips to Promoting your Podcast

When promoting your podcast, attracting new listeners could be very difficult if you rely solely on luck and content. There are many different ways to digitally promote your podcast to grow your listener base. Here are some tips on how to promote your podcast.

Tip #1: Use SEO

For starters, an important way to promote your podcast without having to invest a lot money is through SEO. Just like any other Google Search, if it isn’t found on the first page it typically won’t be viewed. In other words, using the right keywords, titles, and descriptions are crucial to maximizing your SEO. Above all, we are concerned with ranking high on the iTunes charts where once again, maximizing SEO is at the forefront of promoting your podcast.

Tip #2: Invest in paid advertising

In the infancy stage of a podcast, the first listeners are the hardest ones to get. Investing in paid advertising like Facebook ads and Google ads are a good tools when promoting your podcast. For instance, video ads showcasing popular clips of the podcast is a good way to go to promote your show. Beware, paid advertising is an investment that might not generate the return you are hoping for, but it can definitely be a great promotional tool to expand your listener base.

Tip #3: Interact with your listeners

Interacting with your listeners is a great way to create a sense of community around your podcast. Furthermore, listener interaction via social media and iTunes is a great promotional tactic as pages with higher activity and traffic tend to be more promoted by the social media algorithms and podcast networks. Furthermore, encouraging the listeners to leave comments and reviews is a great way to reach the top of the charts. Good reviews indicate quality content according to the algorithms.
