Research report
The Digital Pollution Observatory, created by the RBC Financial Group Chair in Electronic Commerce at HEC Montréal, studies the environmental impact of the Canadian banking sector.
This study offers a comprehensive measurement of banks’ digital practices, taking into account both visitor acquisition methods (natural traffic, organic and online advertising, etc.) and the consumption associated with their use of websites. The results highlight the environmental practices of the Canadian financial sector in the digital domain in 2024.
