What is responsible digital?

Digital Responsibility aims to reduce the environmental, social and ethical impact of digital technology and artificial intelligence, while preserving their positive contributions.
This collective approach encourages a more sober, equitable and inclusive use of emerging technologies.

Design eco-efficient digital services (high-performance, accessible, frugal)

Extending the life of equipment and encouraging re-use

Reduce energy and unnecessary data

Training and raising community awareness of sober and conscious use

Best practice guidelines for digital sobriety

Université de Montréal, HEC Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal and Université TÉLUQ have joined forces with the Collectif Numérique responsable et soutenable to make digital technology a driving force behind universities' social and ecological transition.

This reference framework proposes 28 evolving and adaptable best practices, designed to guide everyone's actions towards a more sustainable, more responsible and more humane digital world.
